Sometimes TCS Staff Might Return to Office Soon After Pandemic
Social interaction is very important for working people, as believed by the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) believed. The Chairman of TCS, N Chandrasekaran said while being in the annual general meeting that most probably the TCS will be asking their employees to come back to their working lives. This could be made into action after the pandemic situation comes to an end.
As we turned out into the social distancing and created a beautiful work-life being in the home, say working from home, nearly 97 percent of the TCS employees follow this strategy. But this cannot be the real success scenario every time. A hybrid work model with a combination of remote working and office working might be the way forward. So, N Chandrasekharan’s opinion is that the employees are required in the offices, even if the attendance rate goes down the collaboration space increases.
The pandemic is still a serious thing that is to be handled with utmost care. Nearly 5 percent of the TCS global workforce are badly affected by the COVID-19. Out of which, 80 percent has been successfully recovered. And so, they take care very much not to create any such situation in the coming times. TCS stated that after the pandemic, in five years, at least a quarter of their staff will get into work in the office.
The responsibility of human resources (HR) is very much important in this pandemic situation. The employees might have different mental strengths and illnesses in the same way. So, taking care and being in touch with every single employee is important. The HR in TCS hands this situation wisely and created in-house tools to interact and discuss every employee’s problem. This is not officially needed but can increase the confidence and support of employees to a great extent.
TCS employs people from nearly 150 nationalities and they are made set to focus on the company to a net-zero emission during the coming 10 years. This can surely helps to lower the greenhouse gas emissions to about 70 percent in the coming 5 years. It almost proves that the TCS is aiming high for a better tomorrow.
