Job title: English Teacher - Male
Reporting to: Principal
Salary: 10000 -12000 SAR with additional Standard benefits as per the policies.
Hours: As per the schedule
Location: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Purpose:
The post requires the teacher to plan, organize and implement an appropriate
instructional program in a middle or high school learning environment that
guides and encourages students to develop and fulfil their academic potential;
and to work together with the school’s educational leadership to lead, manage
and develop the department to ensure it achieves the highest possible standards
of excellence in all its activities. In addition, the teacher needs to have an
understanding of how the American high school core curriculum content is
developed through well-organized online models.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
o Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that
facilitate active learning, and are aligned to school standards.
o Deploy high-quality teaching and interaction strategies when working with
the children including the application of high-level questioning with a focus
on student-centered /student-led learning.
o Encourage, maintain and monitor the progress and behavior of individual
students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
o Assess, record, and, update student development, while identifying problem
areas and areas which need attention and improvement as required.
o Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues,
administration and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
o Attend all appropriate professional training and development in accordance
with the school’s needs.
o Maintain up-to-date current knowledge regarding international best practices
and contribute to ongoing research and improvement in collaboration with
the ELA department.
o Have a mature, responsible, flexible and positive disposition.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Academic or Trade Qualifications:
Qualified with a B.A + Teaching Qualification or B.ED degree in English or English
Literature.
Work Experience and Skills:
o IB knowledge and teaching is a plus.
o Have a mature, responsible, flexible and positive disposition.
o Be open minded and willing to further their knowledge and development by
attending training courses, sharing information gained with colleagues, and
maintaining updated knowledge of best practice by reading, researching and
attending relevant training.
o Exemplify high standards in practice at all times.
o Have a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience teaching in English Language Arts.
