Data Engineer
(Informatica Platform Engineering): Informatica Platform Administrator will be responsible for
managing the Informatica PowerCenter/BDM/IDQ/AXON suite of applications in our
data eco-system, ensuring its stability, performance, and availability. The
role involves a range of responsibilities related to installation,
configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Informatica platform. Key Responsibilities:
Installation and
Configuration:
Install and configure the
Informatica platform, including domain, repository, and integration
services.
Configure database
connections and security settings.
Establish user
permissions and access control policies.
Monitoring and
Maintenance:
Monitor the Informatica
environment to ensure it is running smoothly and proactively address any
issues that arise.
Perform regular
maintenance tasks, including backups, recovery, and software patching and
upgrades.
Identify and resolve
performance bottlenecks, including tuning database connections and
session and workflow settings.
Performance Tuning:
Analyze the performance
of the Informatica platform and make adjustments to optimize its
performance.
Configure session and
workflow settings to improve performance.
Identify and resolve
performance bottlenecks, including tuning database connections and
session and workflow settings.
User Support:
Provide user support,
troubleshooting issues related to the Informatica platform.
Communicate effectively
with business users, developers, and other stakeholders, providing timely
resolution to their problems.
Provide training and
documentation to help users make the most of the platform.
Security and Access
Control:
Manage security settings
and access control for the Informatica platform.
Create and manage user
accounts, configuring roles and permissions, and implementing encryption
and data masking.
Ensure compliance with
security policies and regulations.
Documentation &
defining guard-rails:
Maintain documentation
related to the Informatica environment, including configuration settings,
user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
Keep up-to-date with
changes in the platform and ensure documentation is accurate and
complete.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other IT
teams, including developers, database administrators, and network
engineers, to ensure the Informatica platform integrates effectively with
other systems and applications.
Work with business
stakeholders to understand their data integration needs and develop
solutions that meet their requirements.
Automation:
Ability using tools and
scripts to automate repetitive and manual tasks, such as software
upgrades, backups, and data integration processes.
Writing scripts to
automate routine tasks, such as starting and stopping services, creating
backups, and installing software updates.
Using scheduling tools,
such as oozie or cron etc., to automate the execution of Informatica
workflows and sessions.
Integrating the
Informatica platform with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD)
pipelines to automate the deployment of changes to the environment.
Using monitoring tools,
to automate the monitoring of the Informatica environment and receive
alerts when issues arise.
Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science,
information systems, or a related field.Experience: 3 + years of relevant commercial
experience working with Informatica platform administration, including
installation, configuration, and administration. Strong understanding of data
integration concepts, database architecture, and software development
methodologies. Skills:Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to manage competing priorities and work
under pressure.
