As healthcare practitioners, pharmacists are responsible for ensuring that patients have access to the most cost-effective and efficient medicines possible. It is a medical science that is used in practice. 
A high level of patient interaction and involvement is required by pharmacists in order to monitor the quality, safety, and use of medicines. 
In addition, they must be well-versed in relevant legislation and professional standards of conduct. 
Pharmacology is a separate field from that of a pharmacist, and it focuses on the effects that pharmaceuticals have on the human body. There can be some confusion between the two.

A pharmacist job is to operate in one of three settings: a hospital, a retail store, or an industrial setting.

Hospital pharmacists work closely with doctors and are responsible for ordering, testing, storing, and securing pharmaceuticals and medicines in hospitals. A sufficient supply of medications is also a requirement.
In a retail pharmacist (like a local chemist), retail or community pharmacists sell prescribed and over-the-counter medicines to the general public and advise consumers on the safe use of drugs and the probable side effects.
It is their job to discover novel and safe treatments, develop them into efficient medicines and then market them to customers in a pharmaceutical company.
